DataWing Software® offers expert healthcare data solutions for eligibility, capitation reconciliation,
and information management.
As president and founder of DataWing Software, Jerry Porter has over 20 years' experience in computing and education. Prior to launching DataWing in 1993, Jerry was an instructor and training manager for ExecuTrain of Portland, Oregon, where he wrote the ExecuTrain manual used nationally for application development of Microsoft Access. During his lengthy career, Jerry has also taught math and computer lab at the middle school, high school and university levels.
In 1997, to simplify the process of running batch reports in the R&R Report Writer (now R&R Report Works), Jerry developed Rapid Runner. This program significantly enhanced automation and allowed more flexibility to the end-user to customize reports. Rapid Runner was subsequently purchased by Liveware Publishing, the publishers of R&R Report Works, and is now a standard part of that application.
Jerry also developed Eligibility Manager® in response to a healthcare client's request for improving the process of reconciling eligibility reports – another example of Jerry's ongoing quest help meet clients' reporting needs.
Jerry earned his bachelor's degree in math and physics from Pomona College in Claremont California, and a master's of science degree in math from California State University, Los Angeles.
Actively involved in the community, Jerry currently volunteers as a lead mediator for Resolutions Northwest, a nonprofit organization that provides mediation and education to help kids, families, and communities resolve conflict. Jerry also taught as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Mali in West Africa.
